When an idea has to work
An idea is easy until it has a job to do. Then it gets interesting.
Read the essayLess about what it can do than about the moment a familiar task suddenly works differently.
The interesting question is never what it can do, but what it is good for.
AI is part of how I work through ideas and build things every day. I use it, question it and try to work out where it is good.
What holds my attention is the moment a familiar task suddenly works differently, because there is a new way to approach a problem or build a tool. Then I ask myself what I had only been doing out of habit.
The interesting question is never what it can do, but what it is good for. I want to understand how it could help someone and where human judgement is still needed.
Computer science covers the technical part. Whether the result is any good, I can only judge once I understand the people using it.
Thanks for reading.
